STATE [steyt] n. The particular condition that someone or something is in at a specific time.

I like the ugly truth. I want to see your delicate story all dolled up like painted hearts in a house of cards. Then I want to see it stripped down to component parts. Want to see bare metal on bare skin, the lack of things between, the friction of truth and movement occasionally gliding on the lubricant of blood.
I’m obsessed with fractals and mirrors, and things twisted, lost between the moment of life and something else. Horrors, deceits, and g-d’s honest heroes stumbling towards the light. But more than that, I want you to sing. Or to sing for you.
-MENT [muhnt]: a suffix of nouns expressing the means or results of an action.
I’m a writer and music geek who loves cutting edge technologies, particularly those that allow us to share, connect, collaborate and just giggle. I hold a master’s degree in Creative Writing from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder, CO. My undergraduate degree is in communications from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
Professionally, I work for as a communications person for a mid-sized foundation. I’ve also been a journalist, writer, graphic designer, community manager for a Web 2.0 startup, and an after-school teacher. In addition to a variety of gigs in those fields, I was formerly the news director for a community radio station in Olympia, WA.
As a writer I have been published in numerous journals across the US (none of which you’ve heard of), and was one of the co-publishers of the now defunct Ellipsis… Literary Serials and Narrative Culture, a monthly literary magazine highlighting the long lost tradition of the “Literary Serial.” Although in earlier years it varied, for the last couple of years I’ve been publishing nearly exclusively under my full name, “Takashi L. Kendrick”.
